My Creator, today grant me the wisdom to seek Your wisdom. Help me to Walk of the Red Road.
You Are My Everything
I've been learning that everything that happens in my life is not about me, in direct relation to me -or has anything to do with me at all- in a way. Sometimes what happens in my life is more about another person and what they need in their life- and about what I can give them.
So many times I get up in the morning and see the world form my own point of view and then promptly forget about anyone else's point of view, their needs, what they want- and need. But I'm trying- that's all anyone can ask of me, of us- is that we try.
I'm learning that I can give to others, willingly and unselfishly. To have someone need something from me feels good. There are so many examples I could give here but the best one I can think of this morning is about some of my students. I see them everyday and they come in, having bad days -and good days. They expect me to share their day with them, which I willingly do because I love them, they are my friends, my students. Sometimes they need me to listen- just as I need others to listen to me... hmmmm, I may be the grown-up after all. There are times when the little ones especially are having a good day- that's when they tell me they love me- and I tell them right back. We all need to hear that someone loves us, each and every day- even if comes out of the mouth of a Kindergartener.
So today I leave you with a thought- tell someone you love them today. I know that we don't have enough words for love in the English language that convey our true meanings and feelings but there are many ways to tell someone how you feel. Let someone know you care, tell them you love them anyways, no matter where they're at, I promise you it will make your day- and theirs. And mean it- I do.
