Today is the first day of the rest of my life and as such I have chosen to start writing my blog on Mindsay.com. Last week I completed my master's degree requirements and this week I start the next phase of my journey. I hope you come with me.

For those of you who don't know me I am 39 with two children. My son is 13, my daughter 10. I have been entrusted as the guardian, caretaker and gatekeeper of two of the most phenomenal children in the universe- Harry Potter has nothing on my kids!

Living with us are five creatures of the universe, two dogs, two cats and a lizard. Montana is our Chow Chow, sent to guard us and keep us safe, without him we would not be the family that we are. Taco is our Chihuahua and although she thinks she's a pitbull we haven't told her differently.. why ruin her rich fantasy life? Our cats are Mr. Tish and Cookie, they've been married several years now. And finally Lizzie- our Lizard, the totem that seems to live forever. She was reputedly ancient when she came to us several years ago so who knows how old she is. Indestructible she's survived things like her cage being tipped over by Montana and the loss of her tail to living in our house with no heat for five days when we lost power for five days in October.
