The Christmas Rose
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, shepherds came form the fields, and even kings came from faroff lands, bearing gifts for the newborn king. A poor little orphan girl, who had nothing to offer the baby Jesus, began to weep. Wherever one of her tears touched the ground, a tiny white flower sprang up from the barren soil where flowers of any kind were never known to grow. She gathered them up, hastened to the manger and placed her humble gift alongside the grand gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. When Jesus reached out and touched the flowers, the petals turned a brilliant red, making the little girl's gift the most beautiful of all. Since that day, the little flower blooms each year around Christmas- hence it's name-

This story was left to me by my grandmother. May we all be as humble as the orphan girl and share the true spirit Christmas~
